Many customers ask us how wine shipments from Enoteca Hortis work. Shipping is not handled directly by us; instead, we rely on specialised courier companies. Wine is a fragile product, requiring proper materials, certified packaging, and delivery methods adapted to the final recipient.
Different policies for private customers and businesses
Deliveries to businesses are generally easier: flexible hours, staff available, and premises accustomed to receiving parcels.
When shipping to private customers, policies must change in terms of costs and services:
• narrower delivery time windows
• residential addresses that are not always easy to reach
• greater need for protective packaging
To ensure maximum safety, we are required to ship only using certified, homologated boxes designed to protect bottles and absorb shocks. These have a fixed, transparent cost.
Our recommendation: ship 12 bottles
To make shipments more cost-effective and secure, we recommend sending 12 bottles, packed in two boxes of 6.
This option:
• optimises the use of certified packaging
• lowers the average cost per bottle
• ensures safer transport
Once we know your destination, we request a quote from our partner couriers to provide the best available shipping offer.
At Enoteca Hortis, we want every bottle to arrive exactly as it left our shop — perfectly intact and cared for.
