When planning a party, the most common question is: how many bottles do we need? The answer always depends on the number of guests and on whether food will be served.
For an aperitif, at Enoteca Hortis we usually recommend planning about half a litre of wine per guest. This ensures a generous supply without overdoing it. Naturally, consumption is lower during a business-day lunch, while evening events – including dinner and after-dinner – generally require larger quantities. A good rule of thumb is one 0.75 L bottle for every three people.
As for pairings, we are always happy to discuss the menu with our customers. We love following their personal taste, because everyone is different: for example, smokers often enjoy fuller-bodied, more intense wines.
